AIT uses helical scanning technology to ensure high recording density and data transfer at high speed, whereby the tape is simultaneously protected by low-pressure operation and a non-contact magnetic head recording. If the amount of written tracks is increased, then the tape capacity will also be increased.
AIT media integrate an MIC (Memory in Cassette) chip that records the data to be recorded at a particular position and thus guarantees faster loading and data retrieval.
